Beccles Lido is a great day out for families with young children and it reopens for the 2013 season today (May 25th 2013). Beccles is a great success. After the local council let the pool get ever more run down they eventually sold it to a local community group. The group raised money to repair and modernise the pool. They made it more environmentally friendly by installing solar panels thanks to a grant they won from British Gas. Now Beccles Lido goes from strength to strength. There is a toddlers paddling pool, a learners pool and the main pool with a diving board. They also have a cafè for hot and cold drinks and food.
If you haven’t visited Beccles Lido – Open AIr Swimming Pool before I highly recommend it.
