Just a quick blog to say that I had a lovely afternoon in Bungay. We had a coffee and ice-cream at Jester Cafè and then went for a walk around Bungay Castle. It’s only 50p for Children and 75p for Adults to get in. It’s well worth the money to spend an hour or more looking around a site which hasn’t been spoilt to much.
This is an aerial shot of Bungay Castle that I took a few years ago when St Mary’s Church tower was open to the public. It’s open most years for one weekend during the summer. There are some great views over the Waveney Valley.
I highly recommend a trip to Bungay and a visit to the castle. There is something quite magical about the place.
Entrance to Bungay castle is via Jesters Cafe.
This is a nice place to sit and enjoy a coffee, ice-cream or lunch before exploring the castle. The Cafè is just over the road from the official start of the Godric Way Cycle Route around Bungay and the Waveney Valley.
