Godrevy is the dramatic clifftop headland on the north side of St Ives Bay — best known for the offshore lighthouse that inspired Virginia Woolf’s To the Lighthouse, the Atlantic-grey-seal colony at Mutton Cove just below the cliffs, and the long surf beach (Gwithian / Godrevy Sands) running south towards Hayle. The NT-managed clifftop is properly walkable, with a small car park and a popular café (Godrevy Café) at the entrance.

What to expect on a family visit
A half-day comfortably; longer if you combine it with a beach morning. The cliff walk to Mutton Cove for the seal viewpoint is easy and short — no climbing. Bring binoculars; the seals are always somewhere in the cove (200+ in winter). The surf beach below is one of the best in Cornwall for beginner surfing — schools operate from the Gwithian end.
