Meadowhall trades until 9pm Monday to Friday all year round, 8pm on Saturday and 11am–5pm on Sunday — so the quiet weekday evenings after 6pm are the smartest time to shop. One of the UK’s largest covered centres, with more than 280 stores, the Oasis Dining Quarter, an eleven-screen Vue cinema and 12,000 free parking spaces, it is managed and operated by British Land on behalf of its owner, Norway’s sovereign wealth fund. For anyone in South Yorkshire, north Derbyshire or the southern Peak District, it is the obvious evening shopping destination within an hour’s drive, and the hours stay generous well past teatime.
Opening hours at a glance
Meadowhall keeps a consistent schedule across all four malls, with the Oasis Dining Quarter and cinema running later still.

The four malls
Meadowhall is organised around four arms meeting at the Oasis Dining Quarter. The High Street mall holds Marks & Spencer, Zara, Boots and Frasers — the premium department store that opened in 2024 in the former Debenhams unit. The Avenue — the upmarket arm renamed from Park Lane in 2023 — gathers the premium names, among them Hugo Boss, Kurt Geiger and Apple. The Arcade is the specialist arm, with Pandora and a clutch of beauty and accessory brands, while Market Street is value-led, anchored by Primark and New Look.
All four arms stay open consistently to 9pm Monday to Friday — this is one of the strongest evening retail schedules in the country. The 11pm+ cinema programme and late kitchens in The Oasis make Meadowhall a true evening destination rather than a daytime-only mall.

Shopping on a Sunday
Meadowhall opens from 11am to 5pm on Sunday. As a large centre, its shops fall under the Sunday Trading Act, which limits stores over 280 square metres to six hours of trading between 10am and 6pm — which is why almost every retailer here keeps the same 11am–5pm window. The Oasis Dining Quarter is the exception, serving from 10am to 9pm, so you can arrive for breakfast before the tills open and stay for dinner after they close. Sunday is the calmest of the weekend days: the first hour after opening and the last hour before five are noticeably quieter, and parking is as free as it is the rest of the week.
Hours for the anchor stores
The anchor stores keep to the centre’s overall schedule, though a handful open or close a few minutes either side. These are the typical hours for the biggest names.
| Store | Typical hours (confirm for a special trip) |
|---|---|
| Marks & Spencer | Mon–Fri 10am–9pm · Sat 9am–8pm · Sun 11am–5pm |
| Primark | Mon–Fri 10am–9pm · Sat 9am–8pm · Sun 11am–5pm |
| Next | Mon–Fri 10am–9pm · Sat 9am–8pm · Sun 11am–5pm |

The Oasis Dining Quarter & leisure
The Oasis Dining Quarter is Meadowhall’s central, double-height dining space spread over two levels, with around 20 operators including Nando’s, Wagamama, Pizza Hut Express and a run of independents. It stays open until 10pm Monday to Saturday and until 9pm on Sunday — busy through the evening, but rarely packed to the point of queueing.
The adjacent Vue multiplex runs late programmes until around 11.30pm. Clubhouse, on Lower Park Lane, adds bowling, nine-hole mini-golf and VR darts alongside a bar and grill, staying open well into the evening — a useful spot for younger members of the party while others carry on shopping.
Christmas and Boxing Day 2026
In the run-up to Christmas, Meadowhall extends its weekday opening to around 10pm — usually from the last full week of November. The dates below follow the centre’s typical festive pattern; British Land confirms the exact times each November, so treat these as expected rather than published and check nearer the time.
