A Picturesque Yorkshire manor house with organic garden and exciting exhibitions. We were on holiday exploring the area and decided to make a visit to Nunnington Hall, National Trust property. We loved it and it’s top of our list to revisit in the future.
We were lucky with the weather, it was a perfect British summers day and I could happily have spent all day walking around the garden and sitting down with a cup of tea taking in the views and the atmosphere. A perfect location to relax and unwind.
My children loved Nunnington Hall as well. On the top floor, there is a collection of wonderful dolls houses. Those last 4 pictures above are not the hall, but the dolls houses. My only criticism is that this major feature for the property is squeezed into a relatively small space. Some of the dolls houses are double stacked and too high for my 8 year old daughter to actually see properly; so be prepared to pick up small children so they can see these.
There is also a lovely art gallery with lots of illustrations by Catherine Rayner which my children instantly recognised. It’s a great way to get children into thinking about art and visiting galleries in the future.
As you can see above there is a lovely outside tea garden, so perfect on a summer day and for the colder days, there is an inside tea room which looked equally lovely.
In summary, Very family friendly and I highly recommend a visit to the National Trust Nunnington Hall property as soon as you get a chance.
