We’ve stayed at this hotel several times and have always been really impressed so I thought it should be our first hotel review.  The hotel is located at Capitol Boulevard West, Tingley, Leeds, LS27 0TS on the M62 close to both the A1 and the M1.    The hotel is actually on a business park which overlooks the M62 so don’t stay hear if you want a view.  On the other hand for me it’s a good central location for an overnight stop when travelling North or South with the family and a good central base during the week for business.  If you’re planning a trip into Leeds the next day this is good place to spend the night and recover before a busy day.  It has a large free car park where I’ve never had any problem parking

It’s a good hotel for business and family stays as it has a great swimming pool, a gym, pub, coffee shop, restaurant and a good room service menu.  These facilities are part of the hotels health club which is maintained and run to a very high standard, if I lived locally I would probably be a member.  The pool is much larger than the average hotel pool and ideal for serious swimmers.  What better way to start your weekend drive north than to break the journey and stay here overnight and start off the next morning having had an early morning swim and a good breakfast.

The rooms are clean, warm and modern with good quality  beds.

There is also good free WiFi access throughout the hotel, which is great for Skype and FaceTime calls home.  The WiFi has saved me on a couple of occasions when I haven’t been able to get a signal on my phone which is on the Vodafone network.

The bathrooms are modern and spotlessly clean.  Most of the rooms we’ve stayed in here have walk in showers which I really like and which would be great for older people.  If you prefer a shower I suggest you ask for one instead of a bath when booking.

In the evening you have a choice between room service, which is basically the same menu as the main restaurant, the restaurant itself and bar food in their Victory pub.   The food in the restaurant is prepared and served to a good standard and you can be sure of an enjoyable meal.   On my last visit I enjoyed the Salmon Fishcake starter followed by the Spicy Lamb chops which were served with a nice fresh greek salad – a very nice dish.  This came to about £25 before adding drinks.  There is a reasonable wine menu and the prices are reasonable in line with what I would expect to pay.   My only criticism is that the menu doesn’t change very often which may be a problem if you use this hotel as a based for a few days.

Breakfast is served in the restaurant.  The breakfast service is fast, efficient and friendly.  It’s a self service buffet style where you help yourself to cereals, pastries, toast, cooked breakfast etc.  All good quality and enjoyable.

Finally checkout is fast and efficient, exactly what you need in the morning when you realise you’ve enjoyed breakfast too long and are going to be late for your first meeting of the day.
